To submit podcast to Goodpods, search Goodpods for the show first. If it is missing, open the platform's Add a Podcast page and provide the public RSS feed URL from your host. Once the page appears, compare its artwork, description and newest episode with the live feed, then test playback as a listener.
Count the distribution job as complete when the correct show and episodes are reachable on Goodpods without creating a duplicate listing.
Get the public RSS feed
Copy the RSS feed URL from the podcast hosting platform. The label may be RSS Feed, Podcast Feed, Distribution or Directories, depending on the host.
Do not copy any of these in its place:
- The public website for the show
- A link to one episode
- A private subscriber feed
- The address of a hosting dashboard
- An Apple Podcasts or Spotify show page
Open the feed in a private browser window. Raw XML or a browser-formatted feed is expected. A login screen, permission error or ordinary promotional page means you do not have the public feed URL yet.
If the feed mechanics are unfamiliar, read what is RSS feed podcasting? before making directory changes. Goodpods reads the source feed; it does not replace the host that publishes your episodes.
Check the feed before Goodpods reads it
Inspect the public output rather than relying on completed fields in the host dashboard. A saved value may still be unpublished or excluded from RSS.
Check these items:
| Feed item | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Show title | The final public title, without a temporary launch label |
| Author or publisher | The name listeners should see |
| Description | Current, readable text with no private production notes |
| Artwork | A public square image that loads without authentication |
| Episode | At least one published item with the intended title and date |
| Audio enclosure | A public audio URL that starts and seeks |
| Explicit setting | A value that matches the show and episode content |
Play the newest episode from its enclosure URL if you can identify it in the feed. A directory can display a title and cover even when the underlying audio request fails.
Goodpods may already know the show through its catalogue sources. Try the exact title, then add the host, network or publisher name if the title is common.
Search for an existing Goodpods page
Open the likely result and compare it with the canonical feed. Check the cover, author, description and recent episode titles. An old cover alone does not prove the listing belongs to a different show, since the page may not have refreshed yet.
If the correct page exists, do not submit the feed again. Save the page URL and verify playback. A second submission creates no useful distribution and may leave you with a duplicate to resolve.
If a page has your title but belongs to another podcast, compare the publisher and episode list. Continue to the addition route only when no result matches the feed.
This is also a good time to confirm the show in the larger directories that supply many podcast apps. Our guides to submit a podcast to Apple Podcasts and submit a podcast to Spotify cover those separate processes. A Goodpods submission does not submit the feed to either platform.
How to submit podcast to Goodpods
Goodpods provides an official Add a Podcast page for a show that is absent from its catalogue. Labels may vary between the public page and an authenticated session, so use the prompts Goodpods displays rather than a third-party form.
The submission sequence is:
- Open Goodpods and sign in or create an account if requested.
- Search once more for the exact show title.
- Go to the Add a Podcast page.
- Paste the public RSS feed URL from the host.
- Continue through the feed check shown by Goodpods.
- Review the show that the feed resolves to.
- Complete the addition.
- Save the resulting Goodpods show URL.
Stop if the preview displays a different title, cover or episode list. Return to the host and recopy the canonical feed. Editing a URL by hand can point Goodpods to a website path or an obsolete feed.
Submit once, then verify the result. Repeating the same feed through multiple accounts will not repair missing RSS fields or unreachable audio.
Verify the Goodpods listing
Use a private browser window or a signed-out view for the public-page checks. That reproduces what a new listener can reach rather than what your account remembers.
- Search the exact show title in Goodpods.
- Open the matching public page.
- Compare the title, author, description and artwork with the feed.
- Confirm that the newest published episode appears.
- Start that episode and seek forward.
- Open one older episode if the archive uses different audio settings.
- Save the public Goodpods URL in your distribution record.
A searchable page with broken audio has not passed verification. Neither has a playable page carrying an obsolete feed or the wrong back catalogue.
Do not set a launch promise around an undocumented processing time. Goodpods' addition page is the first-party route, but it does not present a public turnaround guarantee on the security-check response available during this review. Check the page itself and report a delay as an observed status, not a promised deadline.
Fix common Goodpods submission problems
Match the problem to the checks below, then fix the feed or listing source before submitting again.
The feed is rejected
Confirm that the URL returns a public podcast feed. Then inspect the title, description, artwork and episode enclosure. If the host offers a feed validation or directory-readiness check, repair errors there before submitting again.
A redirect can work when it ends at the podcast feed. A loop or a final redirect to the show website will not. Open the final address privately and inspect what it returns.
The show already appears
Use the existing page when it matches the canonical feed. If two Goodpods pages represent the same podcast, keep both URLs and the public RSS feed when contacting support. Do not add a third record as a workaround.
The page has old artwork or metadata
Read the live RSS feed first. If the old value remains there, update the host and publish the change. If the feed has the correct value but Goodpods remains stale, record both URLs and contact the platform rather than repeatedly editing the same field.
Artwork can fail independently of the text fields. Load the image URL from the feed in a private window. A host dashboard may display a cached cover even when the public image request is blocked.
The latest episode is missing
Confirm that the episode is published and present in the RSS feed, not merely scheduled in the host. Check its publication date and enclosure. If the feed is current, allow Goodpods to fetch it again before escalating the issue.
An episode appears but will not play
Open the enclosure URL privately. The request should return the audio without a cookie, login or expiring dashboard session. Repair the source at the host if the file fails there.
You changed podcast hosts
Set a permanent redirect from the old feed to the new one through the hosting providers. Keep the old feed active long enough for directories to follow the redirect. Do not treat a host move as a reason to create a second Goodpods show page.
After the redirect is in place, compare the Goodpods page with the new canonical feed. If it continues to use the old source, contact Goodpods with the public page, old feed and new feed.
Keep the listing current
Make title, author, description, artwork and episode changes at the podcast host. The RSS feed should remain the canonical version of the show. Maintaining separate text in every directory invites mismatched pages and makes the next host move harder to diagnose.
Keep a small distribution record with the canonical feed, Goodpods page, submission date and last verification date. That record gives another producer enough context to check a missing episode without resubmitting the whole show.
Directory presence also needs a separate lane from measurement. A Goodpods page proves that listeners have another route to the feed. It does not make Goodpods page activity interchangeable with host downloads or app-specific engagement. How to track podcast analytics explains how to compare those sources without combining unlike metrics.
