To submit podcast to TuneIn, use TuneIn's self-service Add a Podcast portal. The current form asks for your public RSS feed, geographic restrictions, partner type, and agreement to its terms. Independent publishers who have no TuneIn agreement should use the general route and select Not a Partner. After sending the request, verify the public show page and a recent episode before adding TuneIn to your listening links.
TuneIn has separate portal links for signed partners and prospective partners already working with its Content team. Picking the right path keeps an ordinary directory request from entering a partner workflow.
Before you open the TuneIn form
Prepare the source material before you submit. TuneIn reads the podcast from its RSS feed, so the feed needs to represent the show you want listeners to find.
You will need:
- The public RSS feed URL supplied by your podcast host
- A published episode with a playable audio enclosure
- Final show artwork, title, author, and description in the feed
- An accurate answer about geographic restrictions
- An email address you monitor for submission questions
Open the feed URL in a browser, where seeing raw XML is normal. Check that the show title, description, image, and recent episode appear in the feed. Then open the episode enclosure URL or test it through your host. A directory cannot publish an episode it cannot fetch.
Do not paste your podcast website, Apple Podcasts page, or a private subscriber feed into the RSS field. If you are unsure which URL the host provides, what is RSS feed podcasting? explains how the feed, show page, and audio file fit together.
TuneIn's Podcasters page sends publishers to its current portal. Its support article for adding a podcast also separates signed partners, prospective partners, and all other requests. Use those first-party links rather than an old submission URL from a directory roundup.
How to submit podcast to TuneIn
The steps below follow TuneIn's current self-service route for a publisher without a TuneIn partner agreement.
1. Open the Add a Podcast portal
Go to TuneIn's Add a Podcast form. The page is part of the TuneIn Broadcaster Portal and labels the request Add a Podcast.
You may see a sign-in or sign-up option in the portal header. Use an address your team controls if the portal asks you to create or authenticate an account. Avoid putting the listing under a producer's personal email when another person will maintain the show later.
2. Paste the public RSS feed
Copy the feed directly from your hosting dashboard and paste it into RSS Feed. Use the canonical feed your host tells you to distribute.
Before moving on, compare the pasted URL with the host value character by character. A show webpage can look correct in a browser while failing as a feed. A copied URL may also lose part of a query string or include punctuation from the surrounding sentence.
3. Declare geographic restrictions
Choose the accurate option in Geo-Restrictions. This field tells TuneIn whether the podcast is available everywhere or has territory limits.
Do not guess around distribution rights. If your licensing agreement limits where an episode may be delivered, confirm the approved territories with the rights owner before submitting. The directory setting should agree with the availability your feed and media server permit.
4. Choose the partner type
For an independent show with no signed TuneIn agreement, choose Not a Partner. TuneIn provides dedicated submission links for publishers that have signed an agreement and for prospective partners already working with its Content team.
Partner status describes your relationship with TuneIn. It is not a way to request faster review or better placement. Sending an ordinary show through the general request path gives TuneIn the classification its support article asks for.
5. Read the terms and submit
Open the linked terms, confirm that you have authority to distribute the show, select the agreement field, and submit the form.
Save the feed URL and the date of the request in your distribution log. If your team manages several shows, also record the show title used in the feed and the email attached to the portal. That note makes later troubleshooting far easier than reconstructing who sent the form.
How to verify the TuneIn listing
A sent form confirms the request left your browser. It does not prove that listeners can find and play the right show. TuneIn does not state a guaranteed review time in its current add-podcast support article, so use the public listing as the acceptance check.
Run this verification sequence:
- Search TuneIn for the exact show title.
- Add the publisher or host name if the title is common.
- Open the result and compare its artwork, author, and description with the feed.
- Check that the newest published episode appears.
- Start playback and move to another point in the episode.
- Open the public TuneIn show URL in a private browser window.
Save the TuneIn URL in your distribution log only after those checks pass. Podcast directory distribution explains why a valid listing and a working episode are separate checks.
Do not judge the submission by an immediate change in total downloads. Directory approval, episode delivery, and audience response happen at different points. Use the listing and playback checks for distribution, then track podcast analytics through the systems that receive delivery requests.
Fix common TuneIn submission problems
The form rejects the RSS URL
Return to the hosting dashboard and copy the feed again. Confirm that it begins with https:// or http://, loads without a login, and contains at least one episode with an audio enclosure. If the URL opens a styled website rather than XML, you probably copied the show page.
Also check whether a security service blocks automated requests. A feed that works only after a browser challenge is not reliably available to podcast directories.
The show appears, but its details are wrong
First inspect the live feed. If the old title, description, or artwork remains there, update the show in your hosting account. TuneIn cannot read metadata that the publisher has not placed in the feed.
If the feed is correct but the TuneIn page still needs a change, use TuneIn's podcast update guidance. TuneIn directs updates to a separate form and asks for the Program ID at the end of the show's TuneIn URL. Copy the complete public URL into your distribution log so that identifier stays available.
The newest episode is missing
Check the episode in the live RSS feed before resubmitting the entire show. Confirm its publication status, date, audio enclosure, and availability. Then test the audio URL without being signed in to the host.
If the feed and media file are public, send TuneIn support the show URL, Program ID, feed URL, and missing episode title. That gives support a specific listing and source to compare.
You submitted the wrong feed
Do not create a second listing as the first fix. Duplicate pages split listener links and make future updates harder to follow. Use the update route and identify both the TuneIn show URL and the correct RSS feed.
Maintain the listing after submission
Keep one distribution record for the show. Store the canonical feed, public TuneIn URL, Program ID, submission owner, territory decision, and last verification date. Recheck the page after a feed move, rebrand, artwork change, or long publishing break.
TuneIn says its update form also handles podcast artwork and program information. Make changes at the host first when the field comes from RSS, then use the update form when TuneIn still needs a listing-level correction.
Once playback works, add the verified TuneIn URL to your site alongside the other apps your audience uses. Start tracking your show with Podder to keep directory delivery in the same analytics workflow as the rest of your distribution.
