1. Buzzsprout has not confirmed the change

Podder's Buzzsprout installation guide tells you to email Buzzsprout support with the show name and unique prefix. It also says the change can take up to 24 hours after confirmation to take effect.

Check the support thread. If there is no confirmation, reply in the same thread rather than sending competing requests. Make sure the show name identifies the right podcast, especially if the account contains several shows.

Fix: wait for confirmation, keep the request in one thread, and restart verification after the documented update window.

2. The submitted prefix is incomplete or belongs to another show

A missing character, copied placeholder, or prefix from another podcast can prevent correct attribution. Compare the exact URL in your Podder account with the one in the email. Do not repair it from memory.

Fix: send the complete unique prefix and clearly state the affected show. Keep the original message and the correction together so support can see which value should be active.

3. The feed has not updated as expected

The Podder guide says the prefix belongs in the episode enclosure URLs in the RSS feed. After Buzzsprout confirms the change and its update window has passed, open the current RSS feed and inspect a published episode's enclosure URL. You are checking whether the URL starts with the assigned Podder prefix and still continues to the hosted media.

Fix: if the enclosure is unchanged, send Buzzsprout support the feed URL, episode title, confirmation thread, and expected prefix. Do not hand-edit the enclosure.

4. The prefix appears, but the episode does not play

A valid setup must preserve media delivery. Test a published episode through a normal podcast player, not only by opening a dashboard. If playback fails after the prefix appears, stop changing fields and preserve the failing episode URL.

Fix: contact Buzzsprout support and Podder at the address in the installation guide. Include the show name, feed URL, affected episode, approximate test time, and what the player displayed. That gives both teams a reproducible request to inspect.

5. Playback works, but Podder shows no new activity

Confirm that you are viewing the correct show and date range in Podder. Then create one fresh test by playing a published episode through a normal player. Do not expect earlier Buzzsprout history to be recreated in the new prefix report.

Fix: record the test time and episode, then check the corresponding Podder view after normal processing. If activity remains absent, send those details to Podder support rather than repeatedly replaying the episode.

Keep Buzzsprout and Podder reports separate

Buzzsprout remains the hosting source and keeps its own download history. Podder is a separate prefix-based analytics layer for supported Buzzsprout shows. The dashboards can differ because they collect at different points and may apply different processing and labels.
